ANCHOR HEALTH WELCOMES TWO NEW PROVIDERS IN 2023

Connecticut’s leading health center adds Reia Massaro, APRN, FNP-BC, and Sasha Durso, APRN, FPMHNP-BC, to staff; and promotes Christopher Adams, RN, to Vice President

Connecticut – Anchor Health is excited to announce the addition of two new providers in 2023.

Reia Massaro, APRN, FNP-BC, has joined as a family nurse practitioner. Reia earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Southern Connecticut State University, where she heavily focused her clinical hours in LGBTQ health, knowing she wanted to serve her community. This led Reia to complete a rotation at Anchor Health, where she was compelled by the organization’s mission.

Sasha Durso, APRN, FPMHNP-BC, has also joined the team, leading Anchor Health’s behavioral health program as a family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a child and adolescent psychiatric mental health clinical nurse specialist. Sasha’s treatment approach is grounded in narrative humility, an epigenetic understanding of multigenerational trauma and attachment disruption, decarceration, intersectionality, mutuality, and harm reduction. She empowers her patients as partners in practice, supporting each person’s agency and quality of life as they define it. Sasha will start at Anchor Health on March 20.

Anchor Health’s behavioral health program launched in 2022 and offers services experienced in the unique needs of queer people, including psychiatric assessment, medication management, and letters for gender-affirming surgeries and procedures.

Christopher Adams, RN, was hired as Anchor Health’s first-ever nurse in 2019, and he now steps into the role of Vice President. The organization saw a substantial increase in patient volume and doubled its staff since Chris joined its leadership team in 2020. As Vice President, Chris continues to direct clinic operations, lead staff, and set strategies that advance Anchor Health’s mission of building a future where all LGBTQ people receive groundbreaking, radically inclusive, gender-affirming, and sex-positive care.

On his promotion and the new staff hires, Chris stated:

I am thrilled to step into this new role at Anchor Health and honored for the opportunity to be one of the leaders propelling us into the future. I look forward to working with Reia, Sasha, and the rest of our incredible team to meet and exceed our patients’ and communities’ needs and continue providing the highest quality of care possible.
