Reia Massaro, APRN, FNP-BC, was born and raised in central Connecticut. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and political science from the University of Connecticut, Reia realized she needed a more hands-on role in bettering people’s lives. Reia’s sister inspired her to pursue a career in nursing. Reia worked as a certified nursing assistant for a year before returning to UConn for the accelerated nursing program. She graduated as class valedictorian.

Reia worked as a registered nurse at Smilow Cancer Hospital on the hematology floor for nearly 6 years, where she served as her unit charge nurse and became a Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse. During the latter half of her tenure at Smilow, Reia earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Southern Connecticut State University. She heavily focused her clinical hours in LGBTQ health, knowing she wanted to serve her community. This led Reia to complete a rotation at Anchor Health. Feeling compelled by our mission, she joined our team in November of 2022.

Reia lives in New Haven with her wife, three cats, and a bearded dragon. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking in East Rock Park, playing cards, reading, gardening, traveling, and trying new foods.
