become a patient

Anchor Health’s cofounders handpicked Christopher Adams, RN, to be our first-ever nurse in 2019. Before joining our team, he worked with adults with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. This job showed Chris how vital it is to bring empathy and compassion in and out of his work. He earned nursing degrees from Gateway Community College and Southern New Hampshire University. Chris has been a registered nurse since 2017 and has experience with urology, orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgery patients, among others.

Chris was appointed as Anchor Health’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2024 after serving as Vice President and Practice Manager. Since Chris joined our leadership team in 2020, we have seen a substantial increase in patient volume and doubled our staff. As COO, Chris leads Anchor Health’s daily operations and sets strategies that advance our mission of building a future where all LGBTQ people receive groundbreaking, radically inclusive, gender-affirming, and sex-positive care.

Chris is passionate about civil rights and protections for LGBTQ people in health care, the Black Lives Matter movement, reforming health care and insurance, and more. On the weekdays, you can find him hiking, biking, and playing video games in New Haven. On the weekends, Chris is in New York City, hanging out with friends, trying new Thai and Asian restaurants, and listening to Lady Gaga, Blackpink, and Dua Lipa.
